dunno if there's enough beer in the world to make me buy china carbon 29er and set it up ss with eccentric press fit. Would go bsa73 + chain tensioner most likely.

There were quite a few Niner EBB creakages. I think they attempted to solve it by switching from a one-bolt to two-bolt design, but don't know how successful that was.

This looks pretty clean. Light too, I expect.

I was never supposed to get my caad but was kind of blown away on the test ride – the stiffness and power transfer of a modern alu frame

orlo is nice but it aint that stiff / light

Guys i need help, i have the opportunity to trade my rockrider big8 29 for a full 2013 Kona Unit + money.

What do you suggest? how do the Kona handle in a full xc enviroment? im looking a "race oriented" steel swaggish frame

I'm sure the frame would be fine. Would you really want to race the Kona in its 27.5+ format, or use some lightweight 29er wheels?

I would stick to the racety race mode with my 29er mavic wheels.
Ofc i'm too weak to actually race, but the hipster inside me screams for a cool steel mtb + i always loved the ss ideology, so now's my turn
