I assume the Insert isn't painted maybe? Just the showing part of the post will be painted?

The yellow one looks to be painted complete. Maybe they are sanded a bit before installing to avoid slippage.

I mean with quality components the tolerances are quite small so extra paint on top of already close fitting seatpost is of course going to cause issues

Looks like it's built to ride for a little while before the bar tape becomes unravelled and the derailleurs start making funny noises because they can't be indexed properly.

Campagnolo shifters will work fine with a Sram rear derailleur ;)!
