Finally.
This is also my thinking on the hip-hop characteristic.
I shall follow you to the depths of hip-hopness, sir.Edit:
Although, the caad10 on the previous page is a little bit hip and a little bit hop... Exceptions to the rule? -

You have to judge each bike on its own merits. There are no rules per se, but hhsrb have to be hip hop, road and bikes. They have to be interesting, and they have to be flash. Anti is allowed in non-specifically small doses. Anti might even make a hhsrb. Depends on the hhsrb in question.
So many in this thread fail in the hip hop and/or interesting categories.
Two Spinergies on a road bike doesn't make it hip hop or interesting in itself.

a hhsrb
An owl

^ not cool man!!!!!
Not hip hop either.

The fact that there are no certain standards is fun about this thread. Some builds tick up a lot of boxes but are still anti.

Quite obvious example, all that red is hurting my eyes.

this should be the gold standard for hhsrb

Anti >>>

even with single cage, slammed stem, gumwalls and SRAM 1x?
okay.jpg
-
• #2042
It's not about box ticking. And 1x is total wank.
-
• #2043
Where did you get this single bottle cage thing from?
That bike is neither hip hop nor interesting.
-
• #2044
Single cage only for crits etc so it matches the 1x set-up I suppose.
I'm not convinced it's porn but for me, it's not anti either. It's been put together with consideration for the use it's (hopefully) going to get.
Black bar tape and a black saddle would go a long way to making it look a bit better.
-
• #2045
Not gonna be racing any crits with disc brakes.
-
• #2046
It's not particularly HH but that is a fit bike.

That's hip hop for you. What can I say? You've either got it or you ain't.
Ain't no explainin' it.

Good point. I didn't notice them.
In that case it's probably an accountants bike for flat lunchtime rides.
There's definitely a split on thinking here.
I stand to form a new splinter group called the TPRHHSRBPDSFDCR
(The Peoples Republic of HipHop Slave Road Bikes Predominantly Deriving from Steel Frames and Deep Carbon Rims), in case you weren't sure.
