i'd go for sg75 dd

Still a few more bits to go, the weight will creep up. I was originally thinking sg75 dd or omniums but these are pretty bling and the i'm on a carbon phase :) But I may chop and change as I build it up.

So over the past week other bits came in in rapid succession. I've thrown money at the few bits i've already got, so I thought why not keep going with that theme... Took a leaf out of Hoke's book and blinged up the drive train with an EAI Gold Medal Pro cog (18t) and an Izumi super toughness. I think the little wallet the EAI sprocket comes in is super rad!
The tyres (Conti GP 4000 II, 25 front, 28 rear) and valve extenders came through the post so I threw them on too. My mates Haroon and Richard joined the party at the workshop!

Thanks guys! badmanlongtime, our bikes look so similar. Just went on a longish test ride and it's amazing. sooo comfortable too! I'll post pics when I get home.
It's a functioning bike now, stem and steerer need adjustment and some things might change.

The Thomson X4 stem hadn't arrived from ebay 3 weeks after dispatch so I nicked my track champion's stem to get things going. I'm using narrow hussefelt risers I bought on here, I found short enough grips for them. I liked the way the circle on the Oreba stem matched up with the arrows on the risers:
Locked out of my house last night, staring at the flower pots I saw a small package stuffed between them. My stem! The postman probably put them there and forgot to deliver a note.I threw on some flat pedals and straps and took it for a spin this morning.
Rides really well and feels solid. I was surprised at how comfortable it is.
To do/decisions:
- Decide on a stem or keep the Thomson
- Cut more of the steerer, slam it, get rid of the random silver spacers
- Get mtb pedals
- Decide on stripping the saddle or keeping it as it is (pretty worn)
- Weigh it properly, see if I make my modest below 7.5kg guess
- Take pictures on a real camera
- Decide on a stem or keep the Thomson

that bike wants drops..

a looker, for sure. risers are fresher than drops on this.+1 for slam the steerer
-
• #21
Fuck me loosen that chain
-
• #23
Defo slam the stem.
-
• #24
Tis looser than you think
Also, chain tensioners are the most useless things everrr. This frame has them bloody build in!

+1 Drops... risers look a little try hard on this for me
I've been meaning to build up a Planet X HHSBish bike for a while now. In fact I bought some parts 7 months ago including the f+f during the PX sale. But at the time I had finally succumbed to reality; my knees were seriously messed up and I stopped cycling for a while. I haven't been on a bike for at least 5 months straight and I've had to dismantle my small stable and distribute the parts around the house to stop myself cycling. I even avoided LFGSS as to not get too upset about not being able to cycle. But it seems after a few months of physio etc i'm nearly ready to get back on the saddle.
