the ceramic coating
Please can you tell me a bit more about this? I'm guessing something to protect the paintwork?

That’s correct, something that car and marine have been doing, helps to protect the paint and stop crap from sticking to it, so wash’s off easily. Or that’s the theory………

It's one of dr jon's creations, built by vertigo cycles I think. Probably find something about it on his blog: https://drj0nswanderings.wordpress.com/ or have a look for his flickr/dr.j0n on instagram

Maybe it's not equipped with fat enough tyres, but since the Genesis Vagabond got a mention a few pages back, I thought I could post mine.
It was built from the frame up, so has a hybrid drive train with Shimano SLX chainset and front mech with a 105 rear mech, shifters and brakes.
I'll be using it for bike-packing eventually, but for now it's been used for exploring the South of England. It's a total beast that seems to be able to climb or mash its way through almost everything. There's been a few occasions when I've crashed through a ditch or dumped it into mud at speed and then emerged on the other side totally unscathed.
It's pretty high at the front end, with a long back end and 72 degree seat angle which means I get traction on some pretty steep, loose conditions, so it's great for seated climbing.

:) That campsite by that river was great - I was having a bit of a shit time around then; that trip was a good distraction, thank you.
Thanks. Nice to see it out in the real world
