Why has this thread turned into the 'do read the comments' thread? :)
-
• #78
On here? The comments are wonderful.

woow, there about as unhinged as I've seen.
I do love the disclaimer the DM have at the bottom of the comments section
The views expressed in the contents above are those of our users and do not necessarily reflect the views of MailOnline.
I'm guessing it's just incase any non right wing nut jobs bother to post a comment.

It seems the police take bad driving much more seriously than I thought
Bradbury, London, United Kingdom, 7 minutes ago
Bicycles need some form of identification like a number plate of some sort. It's not fair that when they have an accident and cause YOU hundreds of pounds of damage, they can just ride off never to be seen again. But when the tables are turned, you'll have the whole police force hunting you down. -

The man was white, long blonde hair, wearing a yellow jacket and cycle glasses.
it can't be..

wonder what bit of shitty driving they had done before hand

Since this has turned into 'do' read the comments, this makes a refreshing change:
-
• #84
That didn't take long. Nothing to see here. (Sorry.)

What was it?
Wasn't the motorcyclist filming himself having a go at a cyclist for being in the road was it?
I heard he deleted all his shit. Others have reuploaded it though.
-
• #86
That's it. Dangerous driving coupled with homophobic comments and him having a go at cyclists.

I've just made the mistake of reading some facebook comments under articles on the Paris terror attacks and it's bizarre how similar they are to the comments under cycling articles. Lots of "get their own house in order" comments, random selective quoting of the Qu'ran (/Highway Code), violent fantasies involving hypothetical confrontations imagined by the commenter. It doesn't seem to matter the magnitude of the event in question, the comments follow the same pattern. Have I stumbled on some sort of template for fuckwittery? Are these people actually bots controlled by the Illuminati?

Known in Northern Ireland as "Themmuns!!!" Eg moronic comments as the situation has go do with a group you don't belong to/identify with.
Sadly all too common.

Supposedly a liberal, slightly left-wing paper with a right-on, bleeding-heart socialist readership:

Yebbut, rep to this commenter
Gawd. To the blokes here calling 'sexism' on this... perhaps if it wasn't for people like you we would not need to have areas like this set up. Frankly, it is disgusting that in the 21st Century ideas like this seem good, we should have moved beyond this years ago... yet here we are! And it isn't feminists' fault, it's the men who make it so that events aren't appealing to women because of the risk of being abused, assaulted, attacked, hit on etc.
So yes, it is bloody disgusting that ideas like this seem to be gathering steam, and if you don't like it... take a good hard look at what YOU'VE done to help make events more inclusive for people. Because of the behaviour of people like YOU we now have situations like THIS.
I'm glad you're disgusted and appalled.

Go straight to RLJ-ing, do not pass Go, do not collect £200. The Vine incident in the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/aug/31/jeremy-vine-near-miss-cyclists-bad-drivers-roads?utm_source=esp&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=GU+Today+main+NEW+H+categories&utm_term=188400&subid=19883422&CMP=EMCNEWEML6619I2
For some reason this particular comment tickled me, especially the last line.
