Always been good for me

It's been a while, but I noticed that they've apparently stopped stocking surly and some other stuff - makes sense since they're now a part of WiggleCRC..

They have been my go to shop for bike parts for several years now along with Rose Bikes.
Their prices are great, but what I actually like the most, is the user experience when browsing their web shop. I find their filtering and sorting very good and the site very responsive and easy to navigate in general.
The prices at Rose are just as good - often better, and they ship a lot faster too, but in contrary to Bike24, their website is absolute shit.

Well stocked. Good prices and reasonably quick shipping. I've had good experience with most german shops i've bought from tbh.

Digging this thread hows people experience to this so far?

Had 2 rims and 2 tyres sent to me in Australia. They arrived really well packaged, zero extra charges (was wondering if I might at least attract a customs charge from Oz government but no), and a ridiculously good price - 46 euro for the stuff, and 20 for the postage. And that included gst (vat).
I regret not grabbing a couple of other items to take advantage of the cheap shipping. -

I bought shoes in 2 sizes. they arrived on time and then it was a free return and quick refund for the wrong size pair.

Used them loads in the last few months - no issues at all.

My go to shop. Good prices, fast shipping and easy returns. https://www.bike-components.de/ is also good.

Yup, good experiences from them with me too. Rapid email query responses, fast shipping, cheap.
They have delivered in stock items ordered on the same day faster than UK shops which boggles my mind.

Anyone notice that Bike24 is not shipping stuff to the UK anymore? Is this because of Brexit?
-
• #40
Along with Canyon, bike-discount, Brooks (Selle-Italia)... check out the brexit forum...
Should be only temporary as they sort out the process, however, the cost of registering with the UK tax office to pay VAT may restrict some from selling to the UK
-

I'm sure some enterprising tories will have their own bike component manufacturing up and running shortly so that foreign muck isn't inflicted upon your bikes.
-
• #42
Yeah as far as I can see all the main German bike retailers have stopped shipping to the UK.
I really hope that it's temporary. Some of the statements released by the German retailers make it sound like they aren't interested in collecting vat on behalf of the UK government. It seems they think the notion is ridiculous and expect the government to u turn on the new rules. How likely is that though?
I can't imagine bike-discount and the others would permanently stop selling to UK customers since a fair bit of their turn over would be reduced.
Over the past 10 years virtually all my main cycling purchases have been from Europe and most of them from the German retailers.
Whatever happens it looks like the discounts won't be as good as they used to.

Hope it wasn't too expensive... I had to return a fairly expensive unwanted xmas present to bike24 and with Parcelforce (cheapest option) I've had to pay £35 and print out 7 pages of customs documents and attach to the parcel in a clear envelope! A couple of months ago a parcel like this would have cost about £15 with none of the faff...

They'd offered a free return so cant say anything much i just dont want to use them again sending a wrong item to a buyer is very wrong

too much hassle returning an item
If posting something is too much hassle then fair enough. But they have offered a free return. Not sure there's much else they could offer. Boycotting them based on one minor bad experience seems harsh!
-
• #46
Thats my own side only obviously, I don't know others....when i placed the order it says available so i proceed the payment but when i received it not the item i ordered....what else to say "im sorry bike24" nice dealing with you but i wont buy again
-
• #47
Maybe they just made a mistake packing it.
And sold it meanwhile? You don’t lose anything when returning it with free return?
-
• #48
Guys correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the slight impression he doesn't like bike24 very much after what happened.

I've been pretty satisfied with them over the years, but one thing I have noticed recently is some strange behaviour with their stock numbers. I added a saddle with four units in stock to my cart but didn't order because I wanted to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything and then went to bed. The next morning it was out of stock. I actually emailed them about it and the response a few days later was basically just 'you're out of luck, our inventory is real time'. Fortunately, about 12 hours after I received that email, two units came back into stock and I was able to get the saddle, but something weird is definitely going on with their stock-tracking.
Other than that, no complaints aside from the shipping to Canada being high - but that's no different from most other European stores, and it works out to be much cheaper overall than QBP monopoly pricing anyway. It is also nice that I seem to never be hit with customs on orders from them.
Trying to bring an old thread back to live here...
People still using Bike24? They still good? They have the best price on half the parts I need.
Wiggle has now bought them also, I heard?
