Ah, thanks. It turns out Hiab is a brand name that's become the generic word for this type:

As it was empty, it may have been sent to pick up a container in the enclave? Maybe the crane was folded differently when it was brought, or it was a different lorry.

It does make you wonder whether that miscalculation in the metric measurement may have had something to do with it, but that all depends on which one the driver went by, if s/he noticed it at all, and which of the two is actually correct ...

They really need to sort out that junction. I find it baffling that it's been unchanged for so long, with the surface getting more and more broken up. It's a completely obsolete design and I have no doubt that, apart from the bad driving, it's the main cause of these crashes.

Camberwell today, don’t think there’s much damage to the shop front but reminds me of a very similar incident in 2011 which caused far more devastation.
