hang on - it's not this weekend is it?
-
• #153
Nah, not this week. Fucking hope not at least.
-

Ha, it's the following weekend. Close enough though that interlopers like myself are still trying to make plans to get up there.
So if anyone has space in their vehicle for two people and a weekend bag (no bikes), we can offer you petrol money, and a covered garage and secure bike parking in Bakewell. My parents live there, a stone's throw from the Wye, and from where all the races will be starting. Hit me with a PM.

Just got confused too, just to clarify.
Yes, the Eroica is not this weekend but is on 19th - 21st June, so there's still the problem....
East Midlands Trains passengers warned of disruption on weekend of June 20 and 21.

The disruption only affects trains arriving at STP, not KX.

I'm heading up on the Friday by the looks of it, No riding for me as i'll be working our display stand - i'll keep an eye out for forumers and hopefully get a chance to say hello to a few of you

Which stand?

I happen to be camping in Derbyshire this weekend (actually this weekend, so not Eroica weekend) and as the 55mile route goes past my campsite I was hoping to ride it (with some slightly less experienced people). Will this be folly? The weather looks to be sub-par.

The 55 is quite mild, couple of hills are a stinker but mostly a really pleasant route. Lots is off road on gravelly/stoney path so if it's muddy beware.

ps. for anybody else without a ride ticket, just in case its awkward tagging onto the official rides, unofficial lfgss Eroica Ride?!
-
• #167
Google presented me with some good route options for travelling-up on the Saturday by train/coach (about 4hours via Tamworth/Derby, or Doncaster/Sheffield);
-
• #168
I have a ride ticket I can no longer use, please get in touch if you can make use of it. Thanks.

Got my Hobbs of Barbican out of storage this morning and am getting pretty excited about this TBH. Old bikes are just so damn pretty and well made. Still got the dust on it from last year. Going to fit the Lytaloy headset and the older 4 speed shifter this week. Looking forward to meeting some of you misfits.

I've still not sorted how I am getting there or where I'm sleeping if at all, are camping tickets still available? anyone else hammock camping?
-
• #171
Camping still available last time I looked. Just done a dress rehearsal with Mrs de Selby. Just some bike servicing to do. See you all there.

Fettling the Claud Butler this weekend.
Just changed the rear gear block for a mountain bike 14-28. (Normally 12-19 for the flat around here). Will give a low bottom gear for hill climbing.
Sorting our some suitable clothing, although still don't have proper shoes sorted for track pedals with toe clips though. Best I have found so far are a pair of stiff leather soled brogues!
Any offers, size 45 (10-11).
Travelling up on Friday pm.
Give me a shout if you see me - Silver, red graphics, 1971 Claud Butler Competitor. Should be wearing replica Holdsworth team shirt, Orange, White, Campag lettering. (Unless I get seduced by a Merino wool jersey).

strada bianchi di Derbyshire.....surely?
I only found out recently that there's a free 5 mile family ride on the Saturday at 12.45 if anyone is taking their young guns. What vintage clothing for a 5 year old...?!
