We HAVE to all go to the next Hackney Bicycle Film Society night at Calthorpe Arms - Monday 8th June @pootsmanuva @Doctor_Cake @blowfish @mands @KT_Bee @Ecunard @clefty @lucyh
They are showing BMX Bandits - a classic (1983) BMX film of my childhood. It has girl BMX'rs, daggy 80s fashion, a vintage Oz backdrop and it was Nicole Kidman's first movie.
We can drink beer and yell at the screen.
Two Australian expert BMX bikers and a friend (Kidman) become entangled with a group of murderous bank robbers. The robbers become furious when they discover that the kids sold the radios to purchase new bikes and equipment, and resort to any means to catch them

there's a Facebook event. https://www.facebook.com/events/404945999663046/
But I think I've been to one or two of these and it's just been a case of pile in if it's a popular film..

ha saw this semi-recently again with Nic.
This movie defined my childhood. I think still very much culturally referenced!
I was planning on riding on the 8th, but this would be good too -

So IN for BMX Bandits. I think I saw it as a kid when BBC 1 used to show kids films on a Friday afternoon/after school slot - showing my age there!
Also: LADIES DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS AT LEE VALLEY!!
Who can make the following: Sunday 21st June at 11.30am?
There's another session in July but I'm not here #selfish or it's wait until September.

I might be up for it, depends how much bmxing I can get in before then - as I have done a big fat zero lately. Do you have to book or can we just rock up?

Alas I am in Canada that weekend.

Tbh I think it's for complete beginners and slightly more experienced. At the sesion I went too the only other girl had never been on a bmx whilst Rob was asking me if I wanted to learn how to do jumps : /
alternatively, how about we all find a date for Olympic Rock up and Ride??

Given the lovely weather, would anyone be up for a couple of hours at Burgess Park rock-up-and-ride after work tomorrow? It's been too long since I've been.

-
• #124
Did anyone go to the session last night?
-
• #125
It was just me and one other person. They said 6 signed up, but I guess 4 were no shows due to the weather (it didn't actually rain at all when we were there).
Just seen rock up and ride starts at the Peckham track at 11am tomorrow (Friday). Will be heading down 11.30, anyonelse unworking tomorrow, come join.
