Age catches up with everyone eventually. Even if he isn't the strongest any more he still has the nous and the sprint to win big races. I'm not sure Het Volk was indicative of anything other than EQS need to work on their tactical cohesion.

As a fan though, I want the best riders at the big races and Boonen's absence is disappointing for both Flanders and Roubaix.

He was starting from a very low base.

Maybe he's changing with age, and has (finally) realised that sitting in and waiting isn't always the best tactic. That said, I still hope he wins nothing but chippers this year.

Boonen's situation worsens, on top of the dislocation they're found a fracture in his elbow, we're not going to see until the World Champs potentially. Fucking shame we will miss his bonkers attacks for such a large part of the season, whether he was going to win anything or not.

Just wondering if Sagan's foot down in that corner might be down to the lady of the dutch bike languidly approaching the corner from the other direction on the pavement.

Must be, the rear end goes as he brakes more than needed when she appears.

Which does happen to also be the apex / max dangle-angle (and one hell of an angle)... but I'm she it didn't help matters. An impressive save!
