  • Does the web-player also go to screensaver mode for you after a while even if you're watching full screen?

  • Wow - that was a clean win for Kittel.

  • What do you mean by screen saver mode? The weird popup with other channel annoys the fuck out of me so I use their "light" player.

  • As in the screen goes black after 10 minutes as it would if I hadn't been using the pc.

  • Nope - hasn't been an issue. But I am generally working or doing other shit at the same time, so maybe I've just not left it for 10 minutes before (if I'm just watching I usually put it on the TV with the Xbox).

  • It does this to me too....very annoying.

  • I've written to them countless times but nothing's happened. Can't be a setting on my computer as doesn't happen with Netflix, iplayer et al.

  • The web player is bloated trash.

  • The web player is bloated trash.

Quoted for posterity. I like the completeness of this statement.

  • But is has Chromecast now, so I like it.

  • Wtf

  • ^^What the bloodclaart ?

  • Looks like a farking Zoolander 2 tie-in..

  • Nailed it.

    Poor, Chris.

  • Sky's team is looking ridiculous on current form. They could go to the Tour with Froome, Thomas, Poels, Kwia, Konig, Roche, Kennaugh, Stannard and Rowe.

Landa will be allowed to lead at the Giro so haven't included him.

Usual caveats about it being early in the season etc - but they look a bit good.

  • Landa's got problems of his own...

  • Expect velcro slippers to be in the summer specialised catalogue or maybe the aldi one.

Is it any wonder that Sky have such negative sentiment against them with tactics like this? (noting the context of Froome having given gushing post-stage 1 interviews about wanting to pay Kennaugh back for his TDF support).

Also, I had forgotten how dreadful and annoying a commentator Rob Hatch is. Just watched the Hatta Dam stage and he pronounces 'Lobatao' differently three times in about 30 seconds.

  • What was wrong with Sky's tactics?

  • I did find that a little odd..

Was there any tactical logic to Chris taking it other than because he could - was there someone in the break who would have taken the race lead if he hadn't?

  • I'm not sure the tactics were off at all, but I suspect some of the beef is Sky turning up with a stacked team to some local chipper and dominating the field.

Isn't the Sun Tour usually one for the smaller teams?

If it's the case I can sort of understand the small teams feeling a bit disappointed but frankly you race whoever happens to turn up and if it happens to be a big fish then tough luck.

  • Perhaps 'tactics' was a poor word choice in this instance. 'Behaviour' is what I really meant. Do please however note the note on context ;)

Race however you need to in order to win, it's just kinda annoying when at the same time as saying you're doing this or that for whatever reason you go and race completely differently. Sky is as ruthless, efficient and calculated as the next team, but will give all these interviews that talk of passion and riding with feeling. I just find a lot of the rhetoric from them particularly, and blatantly, disingenuous.

    Haters gonna hate etc.

  • Who knows. Why not try and win it for Peter and risk Chris not winning it? Because; Sky.

(although that is - in itself - fine and the point of racing, just don't pretend it's different)
