I don’t see it as a gift. It’s a team working to keep their rider in the leaders jersey. If it was PR or JV in red, we’d just be talking about the team support. If the team were clear (I may have missed it) that all of their riders were racing against each other that might be different, but strange as you would not expect a team to attack a leading team mate, a team would ride in support of the leader.

JV chipped away all advantage mostly because of team tactics. He attacked and the others stalled the pelotón. Then Roglic got annoyed and tried the same, only to get JV marking him. I can see why Roglic is not happy but the way it all went he lost his chance so may be best to help good guy Sepp?
