I guess (#armchairDS) that they will still try to triple team attack to try to crack Remco/Lenny/UAE gang, but with Vingo in the role Kuss was for the first week? Kuss is a good enough climber to win from here and I bet Jumbo wouldn't mind winning the 3 GTs with 3 different riders just for the bantz.

For the supposed best GT of the season, there's a noticeable lack of interest in this thread.

For me it's because holidays are over and I'm busy at work. If I get to watch the highlights it's a bonus

Pretty much my fantasy ds thoughts. Vingo seems more the pass agg beta type in the netflix scripted reality show so I doubt he's going to go full Hannibal with a plan coming together.

I'm interested, and waiting for UAE beef to fully mature

Afternoon drinking in one of those fisherman pubs in northern Holland where you can still smoke. Long tough build up to the inevitable fight with the local gendarme in a concrete cell in the ancient police station.

Surprising if people aren't interested in the race with 3 of the 4 best stage racers in it (or 4 of 5 if you include Thomas. Or 6 of 7 if you include Ayuso, which may be the the case by the end of the race), and a surprise, and popular, leader with a chance of winning overall with the best mountain stages to come. Admittedly it's been messy, not to say abject, at times and Carlton Kirby isn't helping.

Struggling to get involved.
Even the extended highlights are crap and not long enough to feel the magic and I haven't got enough time to justify paying for it...

I gave the Pétanque a go on Eurosport during the rest day. Could have done with some Kirby. It was very dry.

Poor coverage, struggling for time and not much of interest yet from what I can see. Gonna start watching properly on Saturday.

Looking at the state of the GC and the parcours it's set to be a good one. There's enough interest that GC attacks will start on Friday but enough quality that it may not be settled till next Thursday. Add in the jeopardy of rain and protest and it could be one for the ages (although hopefully not at the cost of the riders safety).

Life getting in the way. I've only managed to watch 2 stages and reading this thread now and CN reports to see what's been going on. Seems like a crashfest with some protests.

Jesus the commentary "fill" is awful. "Ourselin... his name sounds like the little birds that they keep in a box and feed on cognac".
That's Ortolan... Ourselin is a fucking sea urchin. You don't need to make up links if there's one sitting staring you in the face.

The helicopter just got so close that it blew the barriers off the side of the road. Looks like it took a few spectators with it. Hope they're all ok.

WHat happened in the ToB today? Oh yeah - exactly the same as every other day.
So following the ITT this Vuelta gets interesting in terms of Jumbo Visma. Kuss still in red. Is he going to be numero uno now?
