Massive crowd for tour of Britain but nobody stood near us had a clue who anyone was or the teams, it made me wonder how you could better inform the crowds as the race passes. Not sure what the answer is

It rained a lot yesterday in most of Spain so any dirt road sections won’t be great today!
Does Piddcock not wear his red bull helmet on the road anymore or can I just not see it? -

GC nullified because of it. Time taken at 2.6km to go

And now it's at 2.05km to go

Yeh same! I think that corner caught them all out a bit, especially coming off a long downhill run through town. Weird route to use through marple really

He's never worn it on the road since he signed with Ineos. Not sure why.

According to this article Ineos won't let him
the young British superstar has requested approval to race with a Red Bull helmet on the road, but the Ineos Grenadiers have repeatedly declined that request.

Ineos probably don't want their brand to be damaged by associating it with a caffeinated sugary drink.

I remember a story a few years ago comparing Pidcock and Van Aert's Redbull sponsorships and the most convincing argument as to why one of them can wear the helmet was the link to the F1 teams that owners / sponsors are also working with. Jumbo have links to RedBull F1, Ineos don't.

Vuelta's not having any luck - one of the two planes taking riders and on the transfer had to be diverted from Valladolid to Madrid because of bad weather. Following conversations with the organisers, the UCI and Adam Hansen, those riders will stay in Madrid and compete in the final stage.

Does anyone have any idea what riders on teams like St Pirran get paid or what the team budget is? I’m just curious! Presumably some of them work a bit around training?

TOB question -
The stage on Saturday heads through my local area and there’s a decent hill they’ll climb with 25km to go that could be a good spot to watch from. The road book says they will hit the climb at 14:22 on the fastest schedule, so I’m wondering roughly what time I’d need to be in place before they close the road? Trying to work it into a long ride, so planning ride schedule basically.
Cheers

Seems to be rolling road closures maybe 10km ahead of the first riders and pretty swiftly opened after them. You probably won't be the only person with the same thought so I'd probably plan on parking somewhere nearby on the way and walking the last bit.
Yup all done now that the coverage is on. Hopefully more to come!
