I enjoyed Kirby today. He does love Kwiato.
Not as much as Chaves, though.

That was a great win and, I imagine, a popular one. Earlier in the race Vingegaard said the race won't be decided by 4 seconds. I don't think it will, and I still think he won't win it, but UAE are clearly not going to let breaks go without a fight.

Pro styling.. The drug mule vest really sets a baseline for the non sponsor shades.
It would be great if asd kid at the airport is on the mood board... -

Pidcock just lurking in GC climbing groups is ominous for some form of cycle sport next season

Pidcock ... ominous for some form of cycle sport next season
Word up here is he'll be spending winter on the indoor bmx track preparing for a tilt at Gold in Paris instead of Kye who is joining IGD as a domestique.

He's shown a clear interest in DH. So could be using the tour as some sort of inverse training?

Kirby
ITV4 may be annoying with the adverts, and David Millar sometimes, but at least it doesn't suffer from Kirby.

Daytime ITV4 ads are getting slowly more targetted. We had brooks running and North Face today, sandwiched between some for funeral arrangements

Quite enjoying the French commentary with Jacky Durand and David Moncoutie et al. They've been having a tour-long running joke about Moncoutie not being able to pronounce Sam Welsford's surname and are taking any and every opportunity to take the piss out of him for it. Which he's totally into and keeps valiantly attempting it on request.

Makes sense. The triple crown of WC DH, Olympic BMX SX, topped off with the British 4x Champs is there for the taking too.

I used to hate Kirby but after so many years it’s like I don’t even hear him anymore, and even in some perverse way, perhaps I even like him, Stockholm syndrome style.
On the subject of commentary, something that really grinds my gears on Eurosport is the talk of “brown knicks (Robbie McEwen I’m looking at you), though Blythe and Hatch are enablers. At least once in every stage race this season, typically mid-descent in a mountain stage, McEwen has brought up how riders would be effectively so terrified flying downhill that they’d soil their bibshorts, which then allows them all to discuss how AG2R riders need not worry. It doesn’t get any funnier each time it’s repeated.

Nice chat with Bernal, he seems to have a good perspective on his career

Is Pog trolling G with the new shades? That’s not OK.
Few days late but just getting around to review all assets.

I've always had a soft spot for Bernal but he comes across particularly well in that.

Massive crash. Race neutralised

Cameras didn't pick it up but looks like a touch of wheels on a downhill section

Some annoyed looking rider and a lot of skin

Poor Chaves, looks gutted

So does Romain Bardet
Not for the first time he's used that particular 'witticism'. I'd have missed it as I have the French commentary on to avoid Le Kirby, but switched over to watch the Breakaway and, of course, they replayed that bit at the end of the programme.
