Just read the news about Gino. Awful. Team and the race must be in bits.

What a great guy, I forgot he did that. RIP. Cycling could do with a few more characters like him, hopefully a few others might pick up his idea in his memory

Just switched on to today's stage. No racing today, just riding together in memory.

I can only hope it was quick and painless and he was enjoying the race and the descent up to that point.

It must be devastating for his teammates and fellow riders.

I’ve been at a friend’s funeral today, so to turn my phone back on and find out this awful news is just heartbreaking. Such a talented young rider, and one who had a broader world view that just bike racing and was trying to use his opportunity to improve the world. Such a huge loss, for his family, friends but also the sport.

I know Kate Wagner divides opinion and I do understand why, but I thought her piece for Derailleur was rather good.

Would love to see that but sadly too far away. I used to have a Pedro Delgado Vittoria poster in my bedroom. Looking back they were tainted days but still they were incredible.
