While its a shame he's not going, he wasn't going there to compete for the win, he said himself he was there to pull for the other guys early.

Given that Swift is very unlikely to win in a bunch sprint, I hope the GB team race very agressively and try to break the race up. Getting Rowe up the road for example, then trying to get Stannard or Kennaugh across to him. We want a race smashed to bits.

Which would suit Swift too. He's a better climber than most sprinters so to have a chance needs a hard race.

Kennaugh isn't racing though, he's just become a father for the first time.

The man himself has just announced it, to his 1 million close personal friends on Twitter.

At the risk of stating the obvious, prospective each-way punters might wish to consider placing their bets with Coral, Skybet or Boylesports to take advantage of the fact that they are paying out on the first 4 places rather than the 3 that the rest of the industry seem to be sticking to...*
