Did Fred Wright skip finishing school?
-
• #42655
I give up with him.
-
• #42656
He's desperate to win and is trying to force it. It's easy to sit on the sofa and critique his tactics, but that win will come and, once it does, I think he'll kick on and win regularly.
-
• #42657
Fairly difficult actually. I don’t have a sofa.

padun must be happy that jesus won

If you've ever been the strongest in a break and lost, that's how Fred feels, sure he went far too early, but he was strongest. It will happen for him.
-
• #42660
It feels like everybody is happy for Fred to get in the break cos they know he’ll get rolled in the finish.

Jake Stewart out of the Vuelta because of a "Malade dans la nuit".
I thought the opening in Netherlands showed that a foreign start doesn't necessarily make things more interesting but it's been good since it got back to Spain.
Talking of foreign starts, it's been a while since anyone talked about the Giro or the Tour starting in the US. With a bit of luck environmental concerns will have been the final nail in that idiotic coffin. -

And Denmark in the Tour. Unless they're taking them somewhere interesting, it's just a money/coverage thing
-
• #42663
I thought Denmark was quite the opposite, scenic and packed with fans and it had a real feeling of something different and special about it. Holland just seemed like any race.

Agree, Denmark was a real spectacle, sure the racing wasn't fantastic, but the enthusiasm of the public, and one particular Danish rider more than made up for it.
Not watching the Vuelta, can't stand ES coverage (and I'd only get to see the highlights on quest anyway). I miss Gary and the ITV team. -

Denmark départ was great, Cort in the polka dots and el Vingo returning with yellow. Lovely stuff.
Netherlands was drab af. Total party pooper. Struggled to get into this Vuelta tbh. Do like a TTT tho.

As a dutchie, I fully agree and apologize on behalf of all who are responsible.

Accepted. Onwards

Watching the gap to the break increase from 3:24 to 3:42 but in the addled world of Carlton K “it’s reducing”

Chron's flare up maybe? Shame as he was getting involved.

J vine then too good to be true ?

Based on what, exactly?

I spent the whole last climb looking at the IV bruise on his right forearm but it was just dirt

zwift

Well if he drops all the pros not once but twice then its not a miracle.

I think it's been an open secret for the past couple of years that his power to weight ratio is exceptional, but he's lacked the skills and experience to turn that into race winning opportunities.
It seems he's been doing his homework this season.
I did. Didn't see who won though ;)
