I've never got the impression that Wiggins has a lot of reflection about him, so it's not a huge surprise that the right to protest is surpassed by the right to ride a bike around France for a few weeks in his mind.

I think at one point he said something along the lines of "this isn't something you should ever do" but yeah on the whole pretty neutral

Rumour has it that they've a major new sponsor lined up, possibly announced on the final rest day, who will significantly increase their budget for next season. They wouldn't have got this without the exposure they get by riding the Tour.
