Are spectators allowed on the bridge?

• #40703
No, apparently not.

I’m all for bringing obscure Marxist French philosophers into articles on bike racing:

Xav Disley had a couple of quid on him for the win. Former Belgian TT champ and classics monster so yesterday was perfect (in hindsight!) for him

Lampaert also told Sporza he put on specific tires which helped with grip. His form is good as well as last week he got second on national TT after Evenepoel.
So nothing extra extraordinary. Still wished I put a few quid on him though.
Let's hope the wind changes direction today for some proper echelon fun. -

Oh God, it's Carlton Kirby. I thought he was dead.

He's in the break today, GC is on!

We deserve echelons.

• #40711
given wout is only wearing the green jersey on behalf of Lampaert, isn't the green bar tape a bit too far?
-
• #40712
Look forward to seeing the yellow jersey drilling it on the front to obliterate the race in just under four hours.

• #40713
these crowds are incredible
-
• #40714
Yes, totally.

Giro Donne, 7 km to go, it's all coming together for a sprint. Maybe it will be Chiara Consonni's big day.

Raven Banner spotted fluttering in the crowd. Danish stage win confirmed.
"Further it is said that if they were going to win a battle in which they followed that signum, there was to be seen, in the center of the signum, a raven, gaily flapping its wings. But if they were going to be defeated, the raven dropped motionless. And this always proved true" -

Currently driving to the south of Framce so am not watching live alas. It’ll be very exposed I imagine though perhaps splits will happen sooner. Normally it’s closed to cyclists - I imagine all the barriers will just be left open for the caravan and convoy. Will be amazing if a train runs at the same time! Looking forward to watching the highlights.
The wind direction is going to be from the south west, so it looks like the best chance of echelons will be on the coast road before they reach the bridge. Either way, it'll be nervy as hell today as all the GC teams try to stay up front and alert.
