I am certain Lefevre has bribed the doctor and has knee x rays for WVA

It’s been obvious since before the season started that Jakobsen would be the number 1 sprinter and would go to the Tour. Why is everyone acting so surprised?
If Cavendish had dominated the sprints at the Giro then he might’ve stood a chance, but he didn’t.

Agreed, but he is a better story and Fabio has many tours in him still. I bet they've done the math but Cav winning one more stage > Fab winning them all IMO
-

Cav winning one more stage > Fab winning them all IMO
For Cav's personal glory, sure, but he's the past and Fab is the future, and fab winning everything is better for the team. Better to invest in the future and the team, no?

Is he though? He's definitely been winning but stuff like the Volta Algarve and Tour of Hungary.

Those images of tour win 35 in a Quickstep jersey will be shared for years tho
-
• #40433
He's got ten wins this season, to Cavendish's five. He's clearly the number one sprinter at Quick-Step.

No one cares about your hard facts and figures!!
Leaving Cav out of the squad in his nat champs jersey is tantamount to treason… the Queen needs to get Lefevre beheaded.
-
• #40435
Jakobsen's comeback fairytale win would also be huge.
-
• #40436
We've already had that tho?
-
• #40437
Anyways who cares.

Fabio’s been back for a while. Give this one to the old comeback kid. It’s criminal that Cav is not getting a ride. If no crimes have actually been committed, it seems vindictive, at least.
Maybe they’re scared of losing Fabio, but this is the best chance there is of ever breaking the Merckx record, and so it should be done for the progress of sport. Hulsroy is right, the marketing value would be immense. It would be Quickstep’s strongest narrative at this tour, esp without Jules there prancing around in yellow for a couple of weeks. Everyone would be talking about it every sprint stage until it happened. And then Cav would cry and hug Lefevere. Redemption.

Imagine, Cav goes but doesn’t get a decent shot until Champs. He finishes 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, etc, etc, throughout the tour. Then takes the final win on the cobbles in Paris1!!!! Hugs, etc, weird fist pumps, etc.
Deviation. Back of group. CHF200. Tears, but the wrong ones. Rules be rules.
Poppies in the gutters.

they should take CAv, if not becasue of the narrative above, because F.Jakobsen has zero charisma

• #40441
It's Merckx.

lol did Frank do his 60km ride with a barbag?
-
• #40448
I would love to see are Cav take a stage but I can see why he isn't on the first team. Winning a chipper national champs doesn't mean he is suddenly in a rich vein of form, though he does look pretty lean at the mo!

• #40449
No Kwiatkowski for Ineos, he's got a muscle injury.
Or maybe this is a ruse and a last minute swap deal to take Cavendish has been done...

Nailed on.
I still think Lefs should send two sprinters and two trains. One takes the left, one the right. Make it the Quickstep show. Total drag race every single sprint. Let them settle it in plain view.
No Cav but three Danes. I'll take that
