I think the core elements of their tour squad were at the Dauphine though I thought? Kuss obvious problem and maybe Dennis but the last list I saw on PCS didn't have Rohan Dennis in the tour team.

Pain from lactate? I’m not aware that the body produces it more or differently due to gradient vs a continuous TT effort. Efforts in high gears with reduced momentum on a climb are different though. Is that it? And the psychology of climbing is different to TTs, obviously.
