You don't need to pick a lane, but if there are evenly spaced lines on the road it will be much easier to judge or justify a ruling that someone deviated from their original line.

I’m totally serious! It’s been suggested elsewhere for a while and resurfaced following Fabio’s life-threatening crash. I think it’s a question of when, not if.

I find it odd to oppose such a simple addition to the race that could prevent injury, and in rare cases like Fabio’s, save lives.

IMO The only reason the UCI haven’t done it is because they sell that road space to sponsors. Perhaps Paul Smith could pay for it?

Me neither. DVB sprinted past Pog, who had massively fucked up the last km, Pog tried to elbow him out of the way, DVB said feckoff. At most it was a 2-way handbags argy-bargy affair.

There was no way he was getting past MVDP anyway, even if he hadn't got himself boxed in playing silly buggers.

To make it fair, you should also set the riders off at intervals so they can't come into contact with each other. Maybe one minute apart. And to ensure no cheating, ban any attempts at drafting. Why has nobody thought of this before?

Or you could just do it all on Zwift.
