UCI need new commissaires, all the races have been a lap too short.
-
• #30553
Wout still owed him one from years back. At least we got a few exciting laps.

Both of them took their chances.

after yesterday's spacer discussion, should we discuss aert's bar width? Its a bit gravel

Apparently Nieuwenhuis swapped his gravel bike for a cross bike for the occasion. Trek?

They're on Scott now, seatstay / seattube junction looks similar to this: https://www.scott-sports.com/de/de/product/scott-addict-cx-rc-bike?article=280658022

Wout wins best hair though

MVDP’s penultimate lap was a lap record, I think. I’m not sure Wout’s puncture was decisive, but it helped.
-
• #30567
MVDP was definitely closing the gap before the puncture, but last week he got close twice and never made the junction, so we'll never know for sure.
WVA has had two wins this season due to MVDP punctures, so they are even now.
-
• #30568
Exactly. He looked so strong from the puncture on that it was clearly the right result, for me.
-
• #30569
What happened to Pidcock? Did he just gas himself getting onto Aerts’ wheel?
-
• #30570
Would have been closer without the puncture, but would say the result would have been the same. MVDP was faster in the second part of the course with some consistency.
Pidcock never stood a chance on this course, really can't see how people saw him as a favorite today.
Women's elite was the most entertaining race overall

4/4 for the Nederlands, not bad
-
• #30572
He screwed up the sand section, couldn’t ride all the way from the bridge to the shoreline and Aerts opened up a gap he couldn’t then close.
-
• #30573
In Belgium, even better.

• #30574
Yeh, massive effort to get back up to the chasers. Not sure what happened...he was clean in to the first corner but must've got caught on the ramp. Wonder how he feels about the result. Not really a backwards step from last year but all things equal he's at least a match for Toon.
As has been said above, hope this doesn't dissuade Ineos from letting Tom ride dirt. We'll see if Pinerello make a mtb I guess...!

he said he's going to ride a big block of mtb in july
I am delighted to see this character sponsoring the race.
