And now he is riding the climbs/banks that Wout can't. Long live the king!
-
• #30003
Or have I spoken too soon. Takes a few laps for a diesel to warm up perhaps!
-
• #30004
Too soon?
-
• #30005
How often has Van Aert won a head to head with MVDP?
-
• #30006
Not often. Usually involves a puncture.
-
• #30007
iserbyt's white jersey is now black
-
• #30008
Too bad it couldn't be a real duel.
For those wondering: Wout won't be riding a Cervélo cx bike (nonexistent) instead the Bianchi(s) he's riding now will be resprayed in the black/yellow Jumbo team colourway

Too bad it couldn't be a real duel.
Agreed. I thought Wout was gradually coming back before the puncture.
Will the Bianchis be stickered up as Cervelo?
-
• #30010
fork clearance in that Bianchi looks amazing
@peter_v won't he just ride one of these?

(or is that also not a Cervelo)

Looking at the quite technical Herentals course
Loved the course today
-
• #30012
Would have loved to see Pidcock on this course and conditions today
-
• #30013
christ your bike must need a top to bottom overhaul after riding for an hour on this stuff
-
• #30014
That cervelo is way too sloping for a cx bike I think. More a gravel tourer. Look at the comfy fork angle >\
I'm no bike designer mind you -
• #30015
Wout's manager said nothing about that in the short interview during the race. I know it was done often in the 'old days', not sure if either bike manu would be happy with it...
-
• #30016
I thought that was a 3T bike, not sure though. Wasn't mentioned in the interview anyway, they just stated: 'he won't be riding a Cervelo'
-
• #30017
Indeed, I think they (cervelo)'ll get in trouble for stickering another manufacturer's bike with their name on it. Something something intelectual property blabla etc.
In the old days bikes were less distinguishable and manufacturers were not of the sueing (I don't know how to spell that) type like they are today. -

...(because he's a bike racer, not a fucking dentist)"
-
• #30019
Wait, what?! Lucinda Brand has been dominating on this;
-
• #30020
He'll just race a blacked out frame.
-
• #30021
Well, for her maybe it's easy to shoulder, she's 1.68 tall. But I don't see Van Aert riding cx on a sloping frame. His Colnago's and Stevens haven't been sloping. Also, the fork angle on that Cervelo is really not for cx don't you think? I think that's Joris Nieuwenhuis' bike?
-
• #30022
The aspero is a gravel bike
-
• #30023
Poor Joris, he is just touring between the cx pros. If he was a multiple world champ he'd have his own cx model. Cervelo or no cervelo.

His head injuries sound unbelievably horrendous.
Amazing job by all the medical professionals to keep him alive and recover him to the point that he is currently. Also he comes across as really well, much respect for him.
yes he did make some uncharacteristic mistakes there, must have been the nerves/pressure to show everyone who's the true boss of the cross ;-)
