  • Reckon 50 positives on second rest day round of tests and then thats the end of it

  • Jumbo-Visma confirm they won’t be starting today.

  • From Matt Rendall's twitter feed
    571 tests
2 riders positive, one from Sunweb (possibly Michael Matthews source INRNG) and one from Lotto-Visma (as identified above)
6 staff members, 4 from Michelton-Scott and one each from AG2R and Ineos

  • What a sad state of affairs

  • Swifty still hanging in there though.

  • Sharks can't catch covid can they?

  • Seems people now frantically looking through press releases for the past 6 months to see who has already had Covid and are in the Giro. Odds on those riders shortening significantly I would have thought.

  • How many riders need to be removed before the race stops? Is there a rule for that even

  • rest days resting

    yo dawg

Not surprised by other positive tests from Michelton-Scott. The idea that Yates was somehow a one off seemed quite unlikely given that you're most likely to catch and spread Covid from/to those in your bubble.

  • He’s in the break of five, with a minute’s lead at the moment.

  • One wonders when the end will come. If the virus gets a foothold in the peloton then it’s hard to see how they can continue with the race.

Vegni has literally said the show will go on until the government shuts it down, so, yeah: when the Italian government says so. In theory.

  • i think there is a fairly high chance a depleted peloton will make it to Milan

  • I saw him being interviewed on Eurosport, it seemed pretty head-in-the-sand from him; a real tone of "Yeah we've got a couple of cases but it's probably fine". That said he also did that before JV pulled out.

  • Addy Engels sounded like JVM is looking at compensation for loss of earnings with the Giro organisation likely having wrecked the team bubble.

  • More Eurosport gold.

"What a rider they'd be together... Saganna"

  • Great racing with Tao GH now attacking from the peloton.

  • It's been good today. Sagan's starting to look pretty impressive

  • makes some kind of sense for GC riders to attack early and attack often, the way things are going I guess... pello bilbao riding like this giro has a short shelf life

  • If Sagan does this omg

  • Flat finish will bring them back together surely?

  • fuglsand punctures on the descent. sketchy

  • fulsgang having a 'mare of a giro

  • Depends what Sagan has left after the climb I guess.

  • We'll find out shortly!

  • tao attacking the pink jersey group. lovely stuff
