Maybe one for the expert on the doping thread, but am I correct in understanding that EPO doesnt transform mediocre athletes into TdF winners, but gives top cyclists an edge (which may be cancelled out if everyone else if on EPO)?

Much less clear cut than that, a persons physiology dictates their response to EPO, so some will see huge gains whereas others much less even if they were at the same level performance wise before taking epo.

Seems taking EPO gives between a 0% and 10% improvement.
