Holy shit! Did that actually happen? What's the story?

Dave and his working-class friends Cyril, Moocher and Mike spend their post-high school days in Bloomington, Indiana, sparring with snooty students from the local university, chasing girls and--in Dave's case--dreaming of competitive bicycle racing. The four friends face opposition from all corners as they decide to make Dave's dreams come true in the university's annual bicycle endurance race.

Did anyone see Juan Antonio Flecha almost get wiped out by a truck doing a reccy of the TTT course? Quality broadcasting
-
• #2760
Yeah - that was pretty spectacular.
I did that in the alps. One of the things I promised myself I wouldn't do. A few fucking switchbacks down I thought myself some sort of professional. Fucking dumb.

Astana 2nd, EQS 3rd, Sky somewhere beyond 4th, Tinkoff-Saxo way back, OGE win and Matthews or Gerrans in pink.
That would be a good result. (for my fantasy team, but also in general).

Ooh, Hatch acknowledging the speculation over Aru. That's kind of unusual. I wish they'd talk a smidge more - not a lot, but a smidge - about the more suspect teams and riders. I understand that's hard to do with libel laws being as they are, and that the racing is more important than doping speculation as it happens, but it would be interesting to hear the ex-pro's thoughts.

I thought OGE would have got Matthews in the pink jersey but suppose it makes sense to have Gerrans leading and see if Matthews can pick it up this week.
Didn't expect to see FDJ ahead of Sky. They've obviously worked at it ahead of the Tour.

Tinkoff looked really good. Couple of massive pulls by Mick Rogers.
Look forward to the racing proper.

Isn't there some irony that the Israel ministry of tourism are sponsoring the Giro?
-
• #2773
Yeah, sharing it. Now there's more motivation for Matthews.

Pantani...
What's the quote source?

FDJ have been consistently good in the TTT this year.
As a lover of 'ciclismo' I hope Fabio Aru wins the Giro (cleanly).
