Imagine if you could have signatures on this forum.

Adam Yates joins Ineos on a two year deal.
-
• #26505
I wonder why? It isn’t like he’ll get any more opportunities there?
-
• #26506
exactly that, probably paying him better so he gives up on his own ambitions
-
• #26507
The PR piece in the Ineos website suggests he’s joined to further his GT ambitions. With Froome gone and Thomas approaching the end of his career he might get chances, especially as the team like to go to a GT with two leaders.

You should come out and watch us smash it up and down UK A roads all day. Nothing better... :S

• #26509
maybe it could be like on some forums where you list your bikes, or put a pithy quotation from a top celebrity like mark train
-
• #26510
I’m surprised. I thought the brothers had a pact that they ride together.
-
• #26511
Simon Yates can't go to Ineos though, whereas Adam can. Maybe they just decided it was time.

British team for British riders innit

Does that recruitment policy still stand now that Ineos sponsor the team? It was very definitely a Sky corporate policy that they imposed on the team. I doubt Jim Radcliffe gives a tinker's cuss about hiring ex-dopers (though it would be very harsh to label Simon Yates a doper).

Previous statement suggests they have a similar stance to Sky

“ Ineos owns licences to conduct fracking at several locations across Yorkshire.”
🤔
-
• #26518
Indeed. I have wondered about the choice of them as sponsor.

I haven't heard that the policy has changed, put it that way.
(though it would be very harsh to label Simon Yates a doper).
I agree. But rulz is rulz.

“ Ineos owns licences to conduct fracking at several locations across Yorkshire.”
True. And anyone who is living an entirely 100% carbon neutral non-fossil fuel dependent lifestyle is entirely free to castigate them for that. God knows I don't qualify for a ride on that particular high horse though.
-
• #26523
Maybe but if you first had to be 100% carbon neutral before passing comment on environmental issues nobody would ever be allowed to say anything and we’d all slowly boil.
Better to accept a small amount of well meaning and mutually beneficial hypocrisy, I reckon.
But this probably isn’t the right thread so back to cycling!

This is a dumb statement.
My prediction for the tour, it will be cancelled two weeks in. With Roglic in yellow.

I predict that if Alaphillipe is in yellow, the tour will be cancelled the day after
Stuck the French national TT champs on in the background today, was surprisingly exciting. Eurosport showing the Spanish nationals too this weekend.
