Bright sunshine and a breeze now...

I watched when Eekhoff was drafting back up in the convoy. It didn’t look anything out of the ordinary to me.

not sure why everyone's so bothered. I think everyone knows Remco's the fastest U23 in the worlds anyhow. Race is basically null and void without him

I thought the video was pretty damning. He's clearly flying right at the start of the video with the aid of his team car. That's already bad. The fact he passes the convoy and is then in the wind on his own, and his car returns with the sticky bottle just makes it worse.
(For me, the issue is being consistent with the ruling)

Just seen the longer video on Cycling Weekly. 100% right decision.

Dutch women are very good at road cycling

How can they be so oblivious to the cameraman on a bike only a few feet away? The camera filmed them for well over two minutes.
Disqualification is well deserved, that was blatant disregard for rules.

100k solo break is not messing around.

BBC coverage cutting from the interview with the winner to live pics of Lizzie and her bay-bee was parochialism at it's best.

I'm glad someone agrees with me d_m, 3 missed "whereabouts violations" she should've been banned!! But as usual she wormed her way out of it, and as for the BBC cutting to her with her daughter during the winners interview if I wanted to watch "baby diary" crap T.V. I'd watch ITVbe!!!!!

We where behind the interview with a british flag heckling with horns . It was a great atmosphere on the finish line . The dutch win was totally deserved today .

Couldn't agree more pacef8 106ks alone over that terrain in those conditions, Chapaeu!!!

Thankfully, for Deignan, CAS, who are the ultimate arbitrators, ruled that one of the violations was invalid due to a failure to follow due process.
So she shouldn't have been banned, hence why she wasn't.

Credit to trindad and tobago they looked frozen the mexicans who looked really happy and the tiny and i mean tiny kyrgyzstan ladies.
I dont think the mens race will be as good. Plus rumour of a course change due to bad weather .
Oh if your going free coffee by the fanzone bridge with callum and kiaren at varu . Track season is still planned for the summer he says !

Race cut to 265km and starting 20 mins later. They’ll do two extra laps of the finishing circuit. Bit of a shame but always like to happen in bad weather.

I’ve read that the commissaires saw suspicious behaviour from the GPS transponder on his bike, I.e. a consistent high speed for some time, which indicated being paced back up.
I wish the UCI recognised the need for transparency in cases like this. If the chief comm came out afterwards and detailed the reasoning behind the disqualification and the evidence they had it would make it clearer and, more importantly, stop all this social media speculation as to what happened.
