Fuck it. Getting the yellow pages out to see if any local golf clubs are having open days soon.

Surely Thomas must have been thinking of moving for sole leadership. Unless he's not that fussed, with best (paying) team etc.

That's a scary thought.
For all of the talk of Ineos not looking as strong as previous years, they have just taken 1 and 2 spots. Crazy.

Oh common i just said the stage was dull, the rest of the tour was š„

Caleb ewan to win in Paris

Tomorrow the riders should all get a feedbag full of speed and an e-bike to make up for the last couple of days of truncated stages. Wait till Ineos posing with the champagne glasses then everyone else just fucking floors it.

Do they really drink champagne. Or is it apple Tango?
Anyway there's still Saints v. Halifax

Perusing the dictionary I was unsurprised to discover that the word 'disenchanting' has its roots firmly in the French language...

If Froome had been there, probably a 1,2,3...
Also probably wouldnāt have had the glorious drama of Alaphilippe and Pinot.
Having said that, if Froome won next year after his horror crash, battling a well supported Alaphilippe, I would definitely watch.

Hah how did Bardet keep the climbers jersey?!
-
• #23689
Think either Caruso, Wellens, Yates, Quintana or Bernal had to win the stage outright to take it.

Hah how did Bardet keep the climbers jersey?!

Weird isn't it. Sean Kelly was saying the French press has been critical of Ineos being weaker: seems you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. I wonder if it was Ineos being weaker or the rest of the field being stronger. Whatever it made for a great race even if the result was the same.
At least there is no 'transformation' debate. Ineos basically bought in the finished article: Bernal would be winning GTs whatever team he went to. The irony is the TdF win came courtesy of two crashes: Bernal's which ruled him out if the Giro, and Froome's.

• #23698
And I suppose the other thing is Bernal doesn't need a train to win it. He lost a ton of time at the ITT and just took it all back in the mountains.
I hope Carapaz doesn't end up at Ineos. Him versus Bernal will make for some viewing. Maybe at the Veulta?

The crosswind stage broke the GC in favour of Ineos, but they were a little underpowered in the Pyrenees.
Alaphilippe was the unexpected quantity, especially once he won the TT.
Ineos were the strongest in the final week as fully expected, but leaving it late made it more exciting. Donāt think that was their original game plan, but Bernal and Thomas were strong enough to get over the line.
