He went back to the medical car and had a bandage applied to his knee. He was in pain and struggling. He then stopped after the team car came up and then proceeded to peel the bandage and see if that improved things. It didn't. He then tried to carry on, but alone, as his team mates all knew he had a problem and knew he wouldn't or couldn't finish. Eventually Bonnet came alongside him had a chat there were tears, an awkward man hug and that was that. Pinot out the tour. Heartbreaking stuff.

Great day to have transferred Pinot into your fantasy team. Like I did.

I can handle loads of riders getting a tow off team cars in plain sight of the Commisaire's car but fuck me, can they not instantly disqualify riders who pedal whilst on the top tube?
