  • Did Mas crack of are they trying to save him for this week? he finished 30mins down on Sunday.

  • I don't care if he looks like Ming the Merciless

    I knew I wasn't the only one!

  • insty highlight package, on eurosports dime i might add, includes:

a video of km 0 with the penetrating observation that 'this is a very very hard stage'
a video of him and his moto driver urinating
high speed descent with the observation 'i need a change of pants' at the end.
    More 'jaba the hut' jibes

    Yellow jersey for banter

Still cant help but like him

  • France.tv has Voekler on a moto, got to say he's a natural-nice mix of caustic humour and insight into what's happening in the race. They do get far too excited about French riders tho so it's always maliciously appreciated when you see Bardet crack and they get despondent, but this year it's been offset by Alaphillipe and Pinot so I guess it's the Ying and Yang...

  • Man crush on Pinot after his first stage win in the tour all those years ago is still strong. Really hope he can win the tour this year.
Actually really want a Frenchman to win it this year, leaning more towards Pinot than Alaphilippe, but just want one of them to do it as this year is so open.
Loving the uncertainty of it, and the fact that it feels like if one of those top 3 or 4 riders has a good couple of days they could do enough to win it..

  • if he looks like Ming the Merciless

Thank you. That's been bugging me for ages...

“Ahhh…now my victory is complete. With Flash Geraint dead, nothing can stop me from conquering the universe!”

  • My personal Wiggins highlight of the weekend was his Instagram story that consisted only of a still picture of Brian Smith with Simon and Garfunkel "Sound of silence" playing over it

  • Shaaade

  • some clips today, on the c4 summary programme, of the bordeaux - paris motor paced / derny race, looks interesting

  • Caleb ewan second to peter sagan plus a big crash in the final 3k .

  • UCI ignoring the official "rest day ADRV leak" protocol. Am disappoint

  • Brailsford in the Guardian “We’d have to go back to the drawing board but I think it would be a shot in the arm for the whole sport.”
you have to hand it out to him, puppet master.

  • I hate Wiggy and Alapho a little less after that interview.

  • Elia went up a peg too. He looks like a cartoon character as well, that always helps with endearment.

  • a shot in the arm for the whole sport

    Trolling

  • well, I guess he knows who is the team leader now...

  • Lovely bit of camera work with that plane just now.

    Great aqueduct earlier on too.

  • strange looking crash too

  • From the Graun's minute by minute thread:

“As a serious cyclist, over 11,000 kms this year and two sportives wins, Thomas is my favourite rider,” writes [someone called Keith], “but only he can do this.”

  • I just read that.

Keith is kind of a big deal.

  • but only he can do this

One thing I can confidently predict is that if Thomas doesn't win someone else will...

I slightly resent him crashing, I love peaceful stages like this where everyone's tired and the camera operators get to show off their talent. Relax and enjoy the scenery, it's too hot to do anything anyway.
