Sagan keeps us guessing by losing plenty of races from good positions. Milan-San Remo etc.
Not seen any pics of him this year. Is he as stacked as always or has he shed a bit for a tilt at the Ardennes races? I assume he’ll do E3 etc to sharpen up for Flanders and Roubaix.

Yeah but he has got better at not doing that. Having three years of him in the Rainbow hoops hasn't helped. I do like him, just don't like him winning.
I have just read he is down to race Tirreno-Adriatico

more echelons, bit of carnage. Barguill crashed out. Hasn't really gone right for him since leaving sunweb

I do like him, just don't like him winning.
Srs question: Why?
Is it because he's not Stannard?
Is it because he's the obvious choice?I'm only asking because I'm looking for a distraction.

Wow, Paris Nice looks brutal...

Stannard in the 3 v 1 finish of the Omloop a few years back was so very very entertaining to watch.

Bernal is a monster!
-
• #20335
Haha I am not sure I can give any rational explanation.
Reasons why I like him: sometimes he dresses like a wizard, and he pulls wheelies a lot, rides like a hard bastard and genuinely seems like a top chap now he has grown out of assaulting podium girls.
However he has just won too much now, I want other people to have a chance. Also his fans are a frothing lot: Peta Cavendish was getting death threats against her family after he was slung off the Tour. But yeah generally I am just dominance-averse.
Hope that is distracting enough.

A ride into legend that was.

Yeah that'll do!
Dynastic dominance is dull.

As well as Bernal being an echelon monster Rowe was having to tell him to chill on the descents yesterday as he kept casually drifting yards down the road on his own without even trying

Just saw the bit where Bernal was pushing Groenewegen back into the rotation and I'm officially dead.

Comments closed to stop Delaney's daughter from piling in again?

If Paris-Nice hadn’t been windy, I’d have been miffed at three back to back drag run finishes.
Also - re Bernal being an echelon hard man. This picture shows him up for needing full winter kit while Rowe is slugging it out with his knees and elbows on show.

He looks very aero in that pic!

I'm very much looking forward to the Giro, where Bernal will head up sky.

Can’t be a crosswind hard man with dry toes.
-

not your ordinary lightweight Colombian indeed. Mucho impressed. with Groenewegen as well

Perhaps being a world class junior MTB racer helps with his bike handling and fearlessness?
Having said that, with his engine, he could probably be world class at anything aerobic. -

From experience, those Castelli toe covers don’t keep your feet dry. They don’t do a great deal for warmth truth be told.

I don’t think anyone expects Bernal to be an echelon hard man. But he is showing an all round skill set that was hitherto unknown, and which makes it hard to identity any weaknesses he has.
Prior to this race, who knew he was capable of mixing it in echelons?

Can't be a hardman if you can feel your toes.
Read about this, so young and such potential, a tragedy.
