Stepping into the murky world of cycling news comments, it seems a pretty large percentage of people who care enough to comment feel he did nothing wrong anyway so I bet amongst a certain section of fans, protesting has had a positive outcome. Quite depressing really. That'll teach me to read those comments.

Eminently unsurprising really, and also rather surprising he didn't see it coming. For someone who's supposed to be a master tactician, that seems a bit of an avoidable blunder. Claiming 'it's just bantz, she's a gold-digger anyway' was unlikely to go down well with anyone who's not a reactionary sexist jerk.

I note that Lefevre and the team have now done a very unconvincing attempt at the old reverse ferret by pretending to apologise.

Not quite sure where things will end up for those guys but they’re having a blast and their ambition is to break a lot of records.
