Tanfield is impressive.
I hope someone starts paying him properly. And he concentrates on IP and brakes WR.
To be honest, he might manage it in the finals.

4:11.455
Second fastest time ever now.
J Bobridge was 4-10.534
Boardmans 4-11 was in superman.

I think it’s definitely a question of when he breaks the WR, rather than if.
Is he not part of the GB squad officially now? That’s only a question of time too.

not sure about you but fairly sure if Terpstra wants me dropped, i'm dropped!
-
• #15956
I think he is. I heard he dropped out of uni (wisely) and is full time with them.
What time is final? 11:30am today?

tips for PR?
I'm wondering if Terpstra and Gilbert will be marked, allowing someone like Stybar to get away on the cobbles with his cx skills

But a custom bike when he's not even ridden the race.
Yeah. Bit hawkward.

Fingers crossed it will be a bit less predictable than a QS rider slipping away yet again. Luck plays a bigger factor at PR than other races but QS have numbers to exploit.
If you’d asked me six weeks ago I’d have said I’d like to see Gilbert win but I’m bored of that lot now.
I’ve backed Vanmarcke each way at 18/1.

What happened with the Aussies? Left it all on the track yesterday, or a second string rider?
-
• #15963
Lots of people get custom painted bikes and they've not won shit.
Now everyone is talking about it, bike sponsor is laughing all the way to the bank. No such thing as bad press?

He's still gotta find another second.

Look at their times. Super consistent. I reckon they targeted the TP and the IP is neither here nor there now. Plus, Aussies on the Gold Coast... you know they were a slab deep and heading to the strippers at 3am last night...

No more embarrassing than amateurs having their name and flag or origin stickered onto their frame and helmet in case it gets mixed up in the feed station at a sportive.

Anyone got a link for the games? I can't get bbc to work.
Got it working. didn't like my VPN.

He’s been training part time whilst studying for a degree, he’ll find that second soon I think.
-
• #15970
Maybe.
It took 15 years for Boardman's record to go and its been 7 years since Bobridge's was set. But he is relatively close and if he was holding back anything in the quals...

Mega finals.

4s slower.
That 1s not so easy..
-
• #15973
Would changing velodrome conditions have that much impact?
Did enough to win clearly!
-
• #15974
Not that much. Was clearly tired from earlier. Both their speeds slowed a lot in the last few km, indicating fatigue.
Can we talk about the IP qualifying at the Commie Games?
