  • Thomas De Gent says he was in the breakaway on 15 of 40 GT stages he's ridden this year. That's crazy.

  • And he only won on the final one of those fifteen breaks.

  • He gave himself 15 chances to win and took one. A better return than most in the peleton.

  • Does anybody else ever have problems with the Eurosport Player login? Hard to find any support on their site

  • It’s currently not working for me. Let me know if you find a fix.

Though I am being spared Carlton Kirby, so there is an upside to this.

  • He was going on about ions just now...

  • My Eurosport isn't working either

  • The team will be known as EF Education First - Drapac powered by Cannondale.

Looking forward to hearing the first time Sean Kelly has a go at that.

  • Effff eaajucasion

  • Ha. I look forward to hearing Kelly saying classificaaatshun, callyculaaayshun etc every time I turn the telly on.

On another note, Belgium's team for the Worlds is fucking nuts.

  • Farewell then Tyler Farrar who apparently has been riding for Dimension Data in 2017

  • Last Backstage pass ever tonight... just as I was getting in to it :(

  • Who was speculating on where Ryan Mullen was riding next year? He's just signed a two year deal with Trek-Segafredo.

  • I don't get the contempt that Farrar gets. He was a decent rider, who won stages in all three GTs, and always came across well in interviews.

He was never the same rider after Wouter Weylandt's death, which you can understand.

  • Froome is down for the TT. No rr though. Thought course would suit him but maybe I didn't see profile right.
    Tao too.

Got to be racing for Pete k.

  • Swift surely?

  • Neither have really shown much success this year, Stannard might do well if the weather is shocking?

Its probably going to end up being be one of Sagan, Kwiato, GVA, Matthews, Boassen Hagen, Alaphillipe though.

  • Sounds like milan san remo again ! How good was that finish.

  • And Swift has twice finished on the podium in San Remo.

There's a lot of talk that the course suits MSR type riders, although it doesn't look too severe. The GB team doesn't have an obvious leader so it might make sense to get riders in breaks and keep Swift in the front group waiting for a sprint. This assumes he has the legs of course.

  • But yeah, one of those picked by @Acliff will probably win.

  • The two time San Remo podium finisher.

The British team lacks a top drawer one day rider, especially if Thomas or Cavendish isn't riding. It'd be a shame for them to just ride around though, especially as the likes of Doull, Dibben and @taogeogheganhart are riding the Elite race for the first time.

Better chances of medals in the TTs and the Junior and Women's races.

  • The two time San Remo podium finisher.

    Who?

  • He's like a Yorkshire version of Michael Matthews.

  • Ah I didn't realise the course was like that. Yeah swift. He deserves it.
