  • Awwwwwwwwww

  • @Chadders81
Quintana's waaaay off the back, on his own and slipping around badly.

Mega respect if he doesn't climb off/fall off.

Finished 78th of 89 - in the 2nd to last group. 7'02" down.
    77 DNF's

    #respect

  • I'm only flicking to the TV window now and then (at work) so I can't tell anything about them since I don't speak Dutch.

You don't have to say whatever you have to say in Dutch, you know. :)

  • Why does Quintana ride a race like this? To practice for the cobbles in the Tour?

  • Yes. You can ride cobbles in training but to get the full experience doing them in a race will properly prepare you for them.

  • So negative from Van Baarle, just cooked? Figured if he towed Kwiato at all he'd be done in the sprint? Topsport used numbers well though.

  • After that, you can see why Cannondale-Garmin are without a win so far this season. Shockingly negative tactics.

  • Quintana is heavier than I thought. 58kg is only 8 less than Nibali and a smidgen less than Porte.

    Gerrans is only 66kg. WTF?

  • Was Pozzovivo's win today the first for SRAM Wireless?

  • In Van Baarle's defence, Kwiato does shit all to close either, then gestures to him to pull, Van Baarle tells him where to go, and in those 3/4 seconds, Wallays is already well gone and then neither of them is going to work to pull it back and get outsprinted by 1 or 2 others.

  • Catalunya and Dwars-Door footage drops out so long you can google rider weights :-/

  • I was surprised by this. I'd have thought a long wind up would have suited Kwiatkowski.

  • The overhead shot shows that Kwiatkowski does at least accelerate before gesturing.

But it was so textbook by Wallays that one of them should have been on him like a shot.

Added: Van Baarle clearly hasn't read the textbook though, as he said he wasn't expecting Wallays attack.

  • It was always going to take a while, with AG2R being the only pro-your team using SRAM this year.

  • Dear Mr Lefevere,

That's how you win when you've got a numerical advantage in a break.

    Yours sincerely, Jelle Wallays

Ps - I'm free next season.

  • That is actually a little surprising given he's practically a midget (5ft 6)

  • Are we saying 58kg is heavy for 5ft 6?

    #nohopeforme

  • bit of an anticlimax that was. hope Boom's okay for P-R!

here's Fabs making friends with the Topsport riders in their hotel after his training ride and their race, who knows what they can do for him later on...

  • @Hefty Haha no, but i thought nairo was a proper waif. That height: weight ratio sounds kind of similar to that of a normal person as opposed to a pro climber

  • Purito is said to be 57kg and the same height I think. I can't think of many people lighter.

Cavendish is only a couple of inches taller and is 70kg.

I'm going to stick with 58kg being scrawny as heck.

  • It is.

  • I'm 5ft 3 and he weighs a few pounds less than me

  • Pozzovivo is 53kg!

  • Pozzovivo is an elf though
