He made up time at km 3 I expect.

This is an excellent read;

I honestly cannot take Carlton kirby anymore, he has nothing useful to say.
-
• #10980
Good stage though if you're talking about Romandie
-
• #10981
Yeah.
Lots of attacking riding in the finale, fun. -

No mention of Kirby here:

I don't think Kirby has ever done the Giro. It's what makes it the best GT of the year.
-
• #10984
Thank heveans. I cannot listen to his incessant gibberish anymore.
I email eurosport to complain.
-
• #10985
I hope you mentioned the casual racism too, that alone should get him sacked.
-
• #10986
I haven't heard that, I tuned out a while back.
That's worth a proper complaint if so.
-
• #10987
It's kind of a low level, incessant mocking of other nations, like the Spanish, the Italians, the French. Racism might be a bit harsh, but it's that unappealing little Englander mentality incarnate.
I guarantee Carlton voted for Brexit.
-
• #10988
I'll listen out for it. And make an official complaint if so. Little man.
-
• #10989
Can't remember the exact comment but I called Kirby out on Twitter for his Partridge-esqe casual sexism when he was talking about a female rider at a track worlds a few years back.
He did read my tweet out on air to be fair, but didn't seem to understand he said anything wrong -
• #10990
Can you give an example of this? I watch a fair bit of racing with his commentary and can't say I've ever noticed him singling out those countries you've mentioned.
-
• #10991
You're not alone. And if you can find any evidence of him supporting Brexit I will eat my shorts.
-
• #10992
Mind you, I am pretty sure he knows more about Madeleine McCann than he lets on.
-
• #10993
I've heard him on more than one occasion draw attention to how nice the roads in Spain are, and then tell the audience to enjoy them because "we" (Britain) paid for them (via the EU).
If you search Twitter you'll probably find people calling him out for it.
-
• #10994
That's good enough for me.
-
• #10995
Maybe not evidence enough to have you eat your shorts, but it's out of place, obnoxious, and clearly political.
-
• #10996
Can't talk now, got a mouth full of chamois.
Worse than Farage, that's what he is.
It must pain him that he chose a career that entails spending half the year outside his beloved UK. And most of it in the EU! -
• #10997
Now, David Duffield, there was a man with enlightened views.
-
• #10998
Challenges thread for "any" evidence of support for Brexit. Provided with anecdote of anti-EU statements. Responds with sarcasm and hyperbole.
Fun chatting as usual, Will.
-
• #10999
Infers criticism of EU, decides that is evidence of support for Brexit.
Great fun indeed. -
• #11000
Dismiss it, that's cool. He may be a huge fan of the EU for all I know. I don't really care. But try to be less of a cock.
TOB thread
Penultimate stage finishes near me. If anyone wants to stay just ask.
