Some wheelsucker won today, right?
-
• #10153
Yeah in Ardennes you'd think Kwiato would be Sky's leader. And he's won AG before.

Shirley you cannot be Sirius. What about all the kits?!

Betancur down to ride Dwars door Vlaanderen. Definitely on the Movistar naughty step.

• #10156
Sweet race. Fuck yeah Kwiato!

Just caught up on the race. I think more classics should be 40K long, makes for an exciting hour's racing.

I like this new Sagan who seems dead chuffed to have created a great spectacle even though he didn't win. Maybe bagging a second World Champ jersey in a race he shouldn't have won has put him in a good place.
A ++ race, would watch again. Thought Allaphilippe might bag it on the line but happy for Sky, reckon they deserved to take it.

How shouldn't Sagan have won the worlds and Kwia deserved to win yesterday?
-
• #10160
I think Sky rode well and earned the win. Kwia, well, I dunno. He won, it was a fair sprint, he spotted the danger / opportunity. It wasn't his move but he contributed, his timing was sport on. Shrug.
Reckon nine times out of ten with the names in the bunch that made it to the sprint at the worlds Sagan wouldn't bag it. Cav would have zagged rather than zigged etc. All credit to Sagan though -he deserved the win at the worlds even more so given that - at least on paper - he was out-gunned in the sprint.

Sagan deserved the World Champs win because he defied the echelons and rode across to the front group on his own. It was immense.
Kwiato deserved that win because he beat Sagan!

He had the legs to go when Sagan went, the brains to let Sagan work and the skills to rush the gap and time his lunge to perfection. Basically, he fucking nailed it.

We seem to have Leopold Konig selling his old Sky kits on the forum

Yep, and surprising to say Sky rode that race to perfection. Last year Stannard went on the Cipressa and Kwiato attacked on the Poggio, and Ben Swift should have won it #controversial. This year they stayed quiet, massed between the Cipressa and Poggio, let Dumoulin do all the work up the Pogg, and then basically had the best rider in the best position to follow Sagan's attack.
Props to Alaphillipe as well, can't be long until he wins something big.

He's already closed the thread.

Ben who?

Don't think there is a single bit of flat road in the Volta a Catalunya this week. Should be mint.

• #10168
Froome has taken quite a team with him I see...

Hit squad.

Tour squad? + Stannard, - Dreamy Pete.

Deignan won't make the tour.
-
• #10172
I'd be shocked if Rowe didn't go.
Deignan isn't mentioned in there btw.

Deignan isn't mentioned in there btw.
9 man teams, he's riding this. Rowe will definitely be in the Tour team, barring injury. He's invaluable on the flatter stages, not just for his ability to keep Froome well positioned, but also because he reads the race really well.

Yeah cycling news is useless. Always see steephill.tv for info.
Yeah Rowe is turning into a monster rider. He's going to be the classics hope G never was.

correct start list Volta a Catalunya here
Well, he may ride à la Philippe, but I don't think he's quite earned it as a nickname yet. :)
