  • So basically, a 24 hole kinlin/novatec build is my best bet? Best tubs then? Outdoor (but very new and sticky) track. 30 degree bankings.

Track champion should arrive this week but I might not actually ride it until next year, currently short of a crankset for it and it has a stuck seatpost so that might take a while to get out.

I'll be up at the track tomorrow again and then accreditation starts next week, which is terrible exciting.

    Yep, sounds about right.

  • Best tubs then?

There's a lengthy threads about this:

  • Surprised it's taken this long for someone to say UTFS, tbh.

Found a pair of TB 25 on ebay, in rare all-black finish. They're called Keymet, rather than Kinlin - same factory/brand though. 32H, complete with a sprint and a podium tub and laced to Formula hubs. £120 posted.

    Pretty happy with that!

  • called Keymet, rather than Kinlin

Kinlin Industrial Corporation has both Kinlin and (X)Keymet as registered brands .... Kinlin and Formula.. hope the spokes are from Chun Nuan (CN)... :-)

I have asked for this thread to be merged into a practically identical one from a few months ago :-)

  • Whilst we're all still here (if we're all still here), is there any reason why I shouldn't get low flange Gran Compe hubs?

    I'm after:
    32h
    double fixed
    sealed bearings
    silver
    low flange

Mainly for racing but with occasional road / fixed tt type use.
Campag, DA, Phil, Royce, etc all out of my league.
Miche only seem to do single-sided in low flange.

Are there any other options I've missed?

Novatec do actually make small flange track hubs (A265SBT/A266SBT), but they're hard to find (especially in double-fixed) and the Gran Compe ones are just as good.

  • Cheers Tester, didn't know about the Novatec l/f option.
You're right about them being hard to find, so Gran Compes it is.
