  • Also, @MultiGrooves is right to disagree with @Señor_Bear. They're probably not well represented in the pro ranks because your unlikely to be a pro if you have problems which require a specialist saddle. I'm trying to correct a problem with my hips and my back. It's unlikely that anyone good enough to go pro has the same problems.

  • .

  • @Multi_Grooves would disagree the sky is blue

  • I'm the happy owner of Dynamic and TRK saddles on my various bikes.

I also have a red Extra if anyone wants a borrows.

  • I also have a red Extra if anyone wants a borrows.

I think @Señor_Bear was looking for one.

  • Could be as Steve mentions in his blog:

stop Press: As of 20.12.11 the UCI has mandated that no seat can be legal if it is down more than 2.5 degrees at the nose as measured from ...

  • Unlikely, for reasons he covers in that paragraph.

They sponsor UCI Pro Continental team Amore&Vita – the oldest professional team in the world apparently.

  • Probably, yes.

Really want the Composit with the carbon rails. I think it looks smashing.

  • I do want that helmet.

  • Any idea what make/model?

  • The importer dillglove.co.uk, offers trial saddles. Obviously you have a pay a deposit but you get to try it for a couple of weeks. I suspect demand is not as high at the moment, so you may not even have to wait.

  • Checking their sponsor list, it's probably a RANKING Pro helmets, not heard of them before, only found them in this Australian rip-off of Wiggle.

  • @edscoble Thanks. Will give it a miss. I think it's just the pink accents that do it for me.

  • I'm going to order a Composit. Bike24.com has them for €161.00 and €5.00 delivery bringing it to c £130.55. Wiggle are selling them for £171.60. Will report back with results.

  • Planet X is selling them for £140 I think.

  • Booked in for a little tester at Cadence, which is with a dedicated bike fitter. Will report my findings.

  • To be honest, a short test on a trainer is useles.

You need to set it up right or it'll be shit. And then give it some time to get used to. As it will hurt your sit bones a bit if they're not solid already. And if you set it up at an angle that doesn't work for you, then it'll be shit.
You need experience or someone experienced to set it up right so it works, IMO.

  • What I'm saying is, if I'd gone and done a short test on a turbo. I'd think it was shit. It took me some time so set it up right and a little to adjust sitbone wise. And I ride a ism too, so am used it it.

  • Love my SMP's. Totally eliminated any forward sliding which I had issues with (bike fit also helped) and even the I padded one is super comfy. Pricey though..

  • I had a look at mine, granted they're Pro ones (padded) but on the track/tourer they're not under the same angle.

Still, both comfortable in one go. I will start playing around a bit to see what's best for me hip support wise, as my left Greater Trochanter (a hip tendon) is a bit iffy due to past injury.

  • Is your the Dynamic? I've had a customer came in with a snapped spokes (Mavic, quelle surprise),and notice he have the SMP Dynamic, what surprised me is that there's barely any padding on it despite being claim to have some.

Really want to try out a Forma to compare it to the Composit.

  • Went for a saddle fitting... Cadence don't stock SMP any more. Although they do have the newer Cobb saddles, they do a very different thing to SMPs. Completely wasted trip on a completely blinding hangover too.

  • Did they not tell you they no longer stock SMP?

  • Only when I turned up, unfortunately.
