Anyone know a good place to watch this? I know Sky sports 2 are showing and so is Pick on freeview but I had a big screen somewhere in mind.

Hmm, LMNH is a bit far considering I live down the hill from Cadence but I'm just not a huge fan of Cadence.
This is saying at 6pm http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest-news/where-to-watch-bradley-wigginss-hour-record-attempt-174707

cheers alisdair!
it appears that Cadence closes at 6 on Sundays anyway, so ignore that.

EPG is showing a 2h slot from 1800 to 2000, so half an hour of build up and half an hour of celebration/post mortem

what we really need is a big screen outside the velodrome.
edit: thanks tester

What's the cycling equivalent of Henman's Hill? Brad's Bump?

Use the first corner of the BMX track as an amphitheatre :-)

Anyone know if it'll be streamed anywhere outside of the UK?
-

I'll be there, but only in the stands so doing live splits will be tricky! Be interesting to see whether he actually does go for Rominger's distance of 55.291km (which he really shouldn't)
-
• #920
He's said 55.250 is the target according to CN.
-
• #921
He let slip the number of laps (221) and the lap splits (16.1 - 16.2, giving 55.5-56.0km), but behind closed doors he wants to beat Rominger soundly. It's too far, and the risk is that the support staff don't reign in his expectations and don't stop him going out at 56kph (16.1sec, ~490w).

If I was him I'd want Boardman's record but hopefully the testing they've done has shown that it's either possible or impossible and they get the ride done accordingly.
-
• #923
Wiggins should go 54.5 and one month later go 55.291 if the first attempt showed a chance - money/event tailwind is plenty for Wiggo to do so.
-
• #924
That's how dominant runners seem to do it. Wait for the big prize money and break records little by little.

Not sure Wiggo's after the money though, is he? And he'd be wanting to focus his training on Olympic distances soon enough too...
Which would be a shame, because a year of Dowsett - Wiggo ding dong over the hour would be great fun.
1h trance mix with the beat syncing to the pacing obvs.
