Too much work, may as well spend £80 converting my own bike!

Bit over my current budget already with 9 bids :( I need to save a bit more hence maybe getting a new bike

I appreciate the puns but nooooooo!

was tempted to order a pre cursa today but you can't buy the frame on its own anymore by the look of it :(
-

Usually a few floating around on ebay, one on there now but it's a 52. Not sure how tall you are though!
-
• #141
Just shy of 6ft. Most of my other frames have been 55square-ish with a mass of seatpost. Considering going slightly larger, 56-58 maybe? I have really long legs and a short body though. No idea what to do really!

Bike sizing is a difficult one isnt it, I'm around 6ft2 and my Jamis was a 58 and not comfortable at all, despite being the suggested size for my height
-
• #143
I'm a short arse at about 5'9 and the 54 is as good a fit as I could hope for. I found my last frame which was 55 square just a little too long on the top tube and made my back ache like mad :(
I guess I'd recommend sizing down one as you can always make it longer/ taller but not shorter/taller!

You can try try Genesis if you want? It's 58cm and I'm 5 10 so it's on the large side for me.

Will dig them out and drop them round later Ben, if you'll be in? If not, I'll just stick em through the letterbox!
-
• #148
That'll be good mate! Depending on time I might be in! I dunno! Probably best just to pop them through haha!
-
• #149
That'd be great! It's the tt that I'm not sure about, I have a long reach but a short body. Lower back problems mean I need to be just right otherwise cycling can be unbearable. I was thinking that maybe having a longer top tube will bend my back more rather than my back staying in a strange position whilst my arms do the reaching. Does that make sense?

Make sense yes. You can either pop around mine or I'll meet you somewhere.
Will PM you.
Steel is also expensive
