  • From Facebook 8 hours ago: "Red Meadow Lake, Montana. In the USA. So awesome" with a pretty picture.

  • Plenty of photos popped up on instagram yesterday including...

Team Riceburner (Billy and Lina) have posted a bunch of updates now they've hit the US too

  • Ha! Amazing. Morgan (middle) looks the real deal.

  • This is odd, I've just clicked on this and it appears one of my old Italian ultra-tri buds is doing it - Riccardo Alessi. But his FB photos look like his brother Giorgio and Beto Villa from Mexico are there as well - are you able to ride accompanied by non-racers?

Think the Alessis have done it before - they're usually slow completers of events, but definitely completers. Beto's a much better rider, but don't think he's done anything longer than Deca Ironman.

  • Daily updates on Lael Wilcox progress here (and a plenty of other amazing trips, races etc.): https://gypsybytrade.wordpress.com/

  • I'm finding myself following this pretty intently this year. following those blue dots is quite moreish.
I have lots of respect for all involved. listening to the mtbcast calls really brings home how up and down it can be, emotionally.
lots of highlights from last night/yesterday:

    1. the three-way battle at the front is really intense
    2. last night/currently Lael Wilcox powered/is powering through a
section mentioned on the bikepacking.net thread as one that previous
racers would least like to tackle in the dark, so incredible props
to her particularly with her health troubles over the last couple of days
    3. gabes is killing it, right around the 25th percentile position of
      riders

  • For other stupidly long races, see the Ultracycling thread: http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/196763/

  • wrong thread ... this the up to down race not the side to side one

  • Looks like Gabes has 10 gears again!

  • awesome, go gabes!

  • Just been catching up on various reports online, some inspiring riders doing this.
The story of the lady and the bear!!!!

The photos of all the different set ups is interesting and good to see Gabes in a couple.

  • I read this as 10 years, multiple times, and thought "big lead?".

  • Until about 20 minutes ago it did say 10 years, stupid phone keyboard thing...

  • So I'm not going blind?

    Pass me the tissues!

  • 1,000 mile mark passed last night.

    Looks like he's camped here:

    Not jealous at all.

  • Wow, that looks amazing!

  • You're purty..

  • Half way update... http://www.mountainflyermagazine.com/view.php/2015-tour-divide-half-way-mark.html

Currently 6 riders well ahead of the official course record, ~90 mile lead on it for Neil and JP.

Lael Wilcox seems to have recovered, she's ahead of the women's record and having put in a 180+ miles for the last 4 days, back up to 12th place from 26th and looking like she might catch the 3 guys ahead of her...

  • Gabes still making good progress, nearly 1300 miles done and catching up with the 20 day marker, Trackleaders giving him a projected 21 day finish...

  • Go Gabes!

  • Ga Gobes!

  • Sebag og!

  • So be gag.
