A mate who lives in south west France has experience with those marble-stoppered bottles of soft drink. A couple of years ago the 'marbles' were 'the' collectibles for his kids' peer group. Cue gentle tapping of bottles under a piece of thick tarpaulin.
Dad's duties done ....
Until 13 year old son forgot prize 'marble' was on laptop keyboard as the lid was shut. -

I confess I took the glass ball out of the first one I bought.

Ginger beer with a hint of smokey chilli. Absolutely top tier fizz.

I got it with a takeaway from Mildred’s Dalston. Haven’t had a look for sources yet.
I wish it was widely available in pubs as it feels like a grown up drink and I’m a bit bored of being given lucky saint or the same few overpriced bottles of non-alcoholic beer.On another fizzy note, Liquid Death fizzy water in a can- fucking excellent. Managed to kick my long-term redbull habit in less than a month with it. Local co-op has long since run out(think it was a launch promo) but I still haven’t gone back to the devils beverage. I swear energy drinks have a seriously addictive ingredient compared with other fizz.

English friend is trying to ID a drink she remembers from the early to mid 90s
It's sour, but not fruit flavour sour
It was in a can, maybe white
Liquid was pale yellowShe reckons she used to buy it from like an Indian-run corner store so it could've been something imported. It wasn't around for very long. I've gone through lists of options and she hasn't confirmed any of them so hive mind might have some other suggestions...

Oh quick question are there any colas that are made with sugar only.
Looking to make a sauce for gammon.
-
• #288
What do you mean by sugar only? Do you mean cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup? Because all coca cola in the UK and EU is made with sugar not corn syrup. Or do you mean without things like caffeine as well?

sauce for gammon
A pinch of ERG, teeth-ground Common Sense, bathe in Right Wings, pepper with Righteous Indignation and bitter leaves. Stir into a frenzy and crush violently. Pour the result over a naked flame and stand back while it implodes.
Apologies.

Good shout. No though, apparently.

Egg or pineapple?
-

I'm looking for no artificial sweeteners as every else is a bonus ;)
Looking for the sweetness and not the sweetener tang.
Maybe it is not possible.
-

Original coke doesn't have sweeteners in it, just good old fashioned sugar.

Had this at a Mexican restaurant in Oz a few years ago but never seen it since so guess it’s not common in the uk.
Absolutely stonking pineapple flavour.
Available from GoPuff delivery app in London :)

Pompelmo San Pellegrino is my new fave.

Another vote for Jarritos cola, I’ve seen it in a few burrito and taco joints but never in a supermarket or corner shop.
Ju-C banana and ginger flavours were favourites years ago from one of the local Caribbean shops but it’s a long long time since I last saw them.

Thanks for the tip, sounds good.
