Either way i'll wait till @coldharbour gets the surly lockring and we can go from there with a another solution if it doesn't work

How come the Phil don't work? They have a kind of offset flange innit.

Come on, we're waiting...

So am I... Matt promised it would be ready this weekend no matter what. Which is good as I'll be touring on it from Tuesday!

That epoxy might come in handy when my modified forks fall apart somewhere in Europe

What's the chainline?
-
• #268
which one? ;)
Just a standard road crank, so inner should be 41 and outer 45ish
-
• #269
So the inner chainring position works with both of the sprockets on the dingle?
-
• #270
Hypothetically (i haven't measured it) but i'd be worried to go little sprocket to little chainring as it could potentially cause rubbing against the larger sprocket. Also the rocker dropouts/mudguards are unlikely to take up that much chain slack
-
• #272
Very nice, bright but tastefully done.
-
• #274
If you set the two correct ratios then the chain length is exactly same.
e.g. 42x17 is the same chain length as 38x21 so you get a normal 66GI normal gear and a 48GI gear for hills.I went for an even lower small ring of 34t so i have a even lower 42GI hill gear so yeah some tensioning with the rockers will have to happen.

Bike looks lush, but what's the plan with the gears? Are you actually planning on manually moving the chain and readjusting the dropouts each time you get to a too-steep bit?
April fools?
