Without a doubt, man of the match: Wout Poels. Porte, Roche and Thomas cracked and he rode to the rescue when the plan said just roll in after your early work.

A picture that really brings it home. It's a disgusting atmosphere around this Tour, feels worse than normal
-
• #2829
Haha. You edited the bit about the pram, toys etc.

Day after day it becomes more obvious now that you need more then good legs and a strong team to wear yellow in style.

Watching some earlier stages, heard Kelly says Fris Croome three times in quick succession

Such a stage. So many questions.
Bardet's KOM pursuit today is super entertaining. He's super entertaining! The new Roland? (Sorry Roland).
Are Garmin going to forget about Talansky and let Hesjedal loose?
Is Gesink going to finally get a good Tour GC result? (I hope so).
How much more attack does Quintana have in him?
Is Nibali a cnut?
-
• #2833
Froome shouldn't be bothered about Nibali and should rise above it. It actually suited him for Nibali to be up the road as both Movistar and Tinkoff chased to preserve their GC positions.

I don't understand their vitriol towards someone at the top of their game?
I actually sympathise with their frustration. He is ugly on the bike, charmless in person and spoils a big part of the race because it's hard to enjoy watching him win.
What I don't get is how that frustration leads to huzzing bodily fluids at him.

I miss Brad calling them all feckless cunts in the press conferences.
-
• #2836
Ha!
There were no toys left in the pram that day :) Complete princess fit.

I got the impression Porte is saving himself for chaperone duty tomorrow... And G has been doing the biz for a week or two now. The way that Sky have divvied up domestique duties this year seems pretty smart.

• #2838
Is he barefoot?
-
• #2839
They've had Kiriyenka and 14 other riders in Sestriere at altitude for last 3 weeks so they are going to have a squad ready to kick some shit for the Vuelta.
-
• #2840
Was just going to raise that....

• #2841
Wise words Mr P

Are any of the GT pros actually charming? Most of the perceived 'personaly' is projected. Just be happy for the colour and variety in the race. Or watch the golf.

+1 he is certainly more of a likeable character, at least in my world
B.T.
-
• #2844
Yes, and dude next to him was waving Italian flag
-
• #2846
most at least have some sort of character. Something that makes them interesting. Human.
-
• #2847
No. No. You're fine.
-
• #2848
I don't really mind Froome, he seems polite and professional. I find his ability to keep his cool (relatively) given the crap he's had to deal with pretty admirable. He's certainly no more boring than Teejay, Talansky, Quintana etc.
How interesting do we expect someone to be when they dedicate their whole life to riding a bike and not eating very much?
-
• #2849
BUT BRAD BETRAYED ME etc
Whatevs I think Froome is OK but the less I know about him the better really it seems.

This^^
Nah just the top ten. Stage racer for now, maybe he can crack a GT soon though, especially if he was riding for himself.
