That doesn't even make sense.
Besides, if you are a non-idiot or don't have the hands of a child its perfectly easy to get decent front shifting on any SRAM group (provided the frame has okay cable runs).

I have the hands of a child and am happy with sram's front shifting
-

My Sram Red front shifting was getting really dodgy recently. A half turn of the barrel adjuster fixed that, works perfectly smoothly again now, just as it did 2 years ago when it was first set up.

Amen. Mine even worked beautifully on my pre-internal sleeved S2 - which has the worst cable runs ever designed.
-
• #681
A free sack of child hands with every SRAM group is the only answer.

How often do you guys adjust a rear caliper while riding?
Can't say I can remember doing this.
The BB area wants to be beefy for drive chain stiffness = good place for brake.
The seat stays should be compliant for comfort = not so good.
Not a totally convincing argument. But still.

Direct Mount are a great improvement over standard mounts, but like the mini disc, it's doomed since disc brakes will be the next step.

Nope, it's the standard EE caliber - the cable entry point is very central, so it fit under there quite nicely.
All the reasons you enumerated earlier are exactly why it's there by the way, plus it makes the wishbone rear look really clean.

I'm almost relieved. I really wanted the ee DM caliper. Its on a fairwheel bike as a prototype. I'll wait.
My felt wont have anything like the asthetic of the talbot rear end. But as I understand it. The brake was move at least as much for ride quality as any aero benefit.

I have direct mount before y'all.

I'm considering 650 wheels on a future bike.
-
• #692
Good plan!
-
• #693
It was the orange that swayed your decision, wasn't it :-)
-
• #694
B! you forget the B!
-
• #695
Ha.
I was thinking CX utility bike. But with small wheels for a small-furry.
I'm chucking drops on the spot brand 29er at some point. So difficult to justify.
-
• #696
Time to convert the 29er into a 650b +
-
• #697
that's (650b+) the only reason to convert the 29ers, but then again, it'll bring it a little closer to the fatbike...
Having said that, a 650b+ wheelset for the fatbike mean you get the best of both world.
27.5 2.8 tyres on 29ers fork, the 2.8 should fit a fair number of 29ers frame according to the 'burb.
-
• #698
2.8" tyres no longer qualify as massive, ed :-)

• #699
Your mom made sure of that.

Thats how you learn no? e.g Front shifting on Sram
